AviAll was able to get an invite and participate at the news conference with ESA astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti. She just came back from to Earth from her second mission, known as "Minerva", to the International Space Station (ISS).
The conference was Samantha’s first news conference in Europe after almost six months of living and working on board the International Space Station and was held at the ESA’s European Astronaut Centre in Cologne, Germany. You can read more about this from the ESA website here.
For AviAll it was amazing to hear from such an inspirational figure. It was also incredible to hear from the ESA leadership that diversity is at the forefront of their agenda and that more gender balanced space crews will be the norm in future. Whether on Earth or in the space we stand together to make aviation and aerospace industry diverse and inclusive for all!
